SCRIPTURES TO HELP YOU STOP OVERTHINKING- CHRISTIAN ENCOURAGEMENT
SCRIPTURES TO HELP YOU STOP OVERTHINKING
Be still and know that I am God. That is Psalm 46:10.
Yes, I have been there too.
Overthinking drains your peace, steals your joy and make you doubt
what God already settle.
But the beautiful thing is
this. The Bible is not silent about a noisy mind.
to show you how to use them when your mind starts racing at any
time of the day.
Grab your journal, pause this video if need be. Do not just
listen, receive
this because peace is not a personality threat. [music] It is a
promise. And today we are going
The first scripture on our list is from the book of Philippians 4 6-7.
And for overthinking, he gave us peace.
Here is how to use it.
The moment your mind starts spinning. Stop and pray
out loud. Tell God exactly what is on your mind. Then thank him for what
he has already done. That thanksgiving part is key.
Gratitude interrupts anxiety and the promise his peace will stand
like a soldier and guard your mind. Over thinking cannot break in
when peace is
on duty. Ask yourself right now, what is one thought I need to
exchange for prayer today?
Type it in the comments. Let us pray together.
The second scripture is Isaiah 26:E3.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast
because they trust in you.
The word steadfast means fixed, focused, locked in.
Overthinking happens when our mind is fixed on the problem.
Perfect peace
happens when our mind is fixed on the promise keeper. You do not
have to figure it all out by yourself.
You just have to fix your eyes on the promise keeper. When you catch yourself filled with overthinking,
say this, God, I fix my mind on you, not on this.
Trust is not the absence of questions.
It is a presence of confidence that God is already in tomorrow.
We move to the third scripture which is Matthew 6:34.
Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry
about itself.
seconds
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Jesus was literally saying stay in today. Overthinking lives in
tomorrow.
Your job is today's grace. God gives mana daily, not monthly.
I will deal with tomorrow when it comes."
And to the fourth
scripture on our list,
So how do you take a thought captive?
with what God says. You do not let every thought that knocks on
your mind move
Five, we have Psalm 94 verse 19.
I love this because it is honest.
David did not pretend he was never anxious. He said when anxiety
was great,
but he did not stay there. He ran to God's consolation.
Consolation means comfort.
But deeper, it means God's
presence wrapped around your panic.
So when your mind is heavy, do not just crow. Do not just vent.
Now we move to sixth scripture which is the last one on this list.
The Sixth Scripture and the last one on this list, which is first Peter 5:7.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Your overthinking does not impress him. Your surrender does.
Dear family, overthinking is a sign you are trying to be God. You
are trying to predict,
shepherd. You are the sheep. And the shepherd's job is to lead.
Your job is to follow and rest.
Now let us pray.
Father, I bring every person watching this to you. You see the
thought that keeps them up at night. You know the scenarios that have been
replaying.
Lord, today we cast on, we cast them on you. We take every
thought captive and make it obedience to Christ.
Let your perfect peace guard our hearts and minds. Teach us to be
still and know that you are good.
If this word bless you, do me a favor. First take a deep breath. right now and say, "God got me."
You might just be the reason they sleep tonight.
